Due to the influence of Corona on Cebu Island, restaurants and other shops have been closed for a while except for takeout. The shops gradually reopened from around August last year, and the number of shops starting to eat in has increased!
This time, we covered a famous restaurant on Cebu Island, which has been popular since before Corona. I will tell you about the recent situation of restaurants in Cebu ♪

Lantaw Floating Native Restaurant
This popular Filipino restaurant in Cebu has been a favorite among locals and tourists since 2012. It currently has 2 branches – one in Cordova and another one in Talisay. This restaurant is named after the Cebuano word “lantaw” which means “watch or look”, because of its breathtaking view of the sea. Dining in Lantaw does not just satisfy your palate but your eyes as well.
We are proud of the deck built on the sea where you can have meals while feeling the sea breeze of tropical Cebu!
Foods
Cordova Express (P210)
This is Lantaw’s own version of the popular Filipino comfort food, Bicol express. What makes it different and special is the ingredients used. It is composed of mixed seafood such as shrimp, fish and squid, unlike the ordinary Bicol express which usually just uses pork. It is cooked in coconut milk and chili peppers, which is why it is served in a coconut shell.
Baked Scallops (P195)
Perfectly baked buttered scallops – definitely a must-try in Lantaw!
Sisig (P195)
Sisig is another Filipino comfort dish that’s composed mainly of pig’s parts such as face and ears. It is usually seasoned with calamansi, onions and chili peppers. It originates from the island of Luzon but Lantaw’s Cebuano version of it is a must-try!
Adobong Kangkong (P110)
Water spinach, locally known as Kangkong, is a Filipino vegetable that is loved by many, especially by the Japanese. It can be cooked adobo style (as shown in the photo above) or fried with flour (crispy kangkong). No matter how it is cooked, it is always a delight to eat!
Banana Turon (P130)
Turon is a popular Filipino snack among locals. It is a deep-fried banana roll/lumpia, with caramelized sugar. Lantaw has turned this ordinary snack into a flavorful dessert by topping it with Vanilla ice cream and drizzling some chocolate syrup.
The best location to enjoy a superb view
Sunset in Lantaw Cordova
Sunset is the best time to dine in Lantaw Cordova, for it boasts of its breathtaking sunset view. Watch as the sky changes into different magnificent colors, while enjoying the relaxing sea breeze.
Just like any other restaurant that’s open during the pandemic, Lantaw Floating Native Restaurant observes the safety protocols set by the IATF. So, it is definitely safe to dine in the place, since the area is also open (alfresco).
