A tourist’s experience in Mactan wouldn’t be complete without checking in to one of Mactan’s best luxury resorts – Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa. Now that it has almost been a year since the Covid19 pandemic started, let us take a look at the resort’s current situation.

Just like any other resort in Mactan, guests are required to fill out the Health Declaration form and go through temperature check, hand sanitation and baggage scan upon entering the resort lobby. Also, at this time (February 2021), They required to submit a medical certificate issued at the barangay hall before entering the hotel.

There is also a plastic barrier on the front desk for both the guests and the staff’s safety.

Shangri-La used to be always full of life and people, but now the situation is a bit different. It is more serene and private, giving their guests a completely relaxing and tranquil staycation.

For now, they only allow 50% occupancy for the restaurants and rooms. The ocean wing rooms, shown in the photo above, are temporarily closed for guests. Only the Main Wing Rooms are currently open and available.

Out of their 2 pools, only the Ocean Wing Pool is open for now.

Their private beach cove and marine sanctuary is still the guests’ favorite spot in the resort. Nothing beats Shangri-la’s beach and marine life!

The Breeze Bar, located right at the beach front, is the only bar operating for now.

You can spend quietly while listening to the sound of the waves.

Restaurant

The Cowrie Cove Seafood Bar and Grill is the only restaurant in the resort that’s operating daily during the pandemic. The other restaurants’ schedule changes weekly. You can enjoy an elegant meal while feeling the sea breeze on the terrace.

The Deluxe Seaview Wing rooms are the only rooms that are available for guests for now. Its rate changes weekly. However, instead of the usual sumptuous breakfast buffet for guests, they now serve plated breakfasts for their guests that can be enjoyed in the privacy of their rooms, or at the restaurant (whichever is open during their stay).
