The Mactan International Airport(MCIA) Terminal 2 has been continually rejoicing in global recognition since the “Asia Pacific Medium Airport of the year 2018 to another international awards this year, MCIA grabbed the International Award 2019 and Asia Pacific Airport Bar of the year.
It is hailed as one of the winners of the 2019 International Architecture Award for the Airports and Transportation Centers category, sharing the spot with Incheon International Airport. It won the Architecture Award for its unique style, tropical resort vibe designed by renowned designer Kenneth Cobonpue along with Hong Kong studio Integrated Design Associates and other local designers, Royal Pineda and Budji Layu.
“MCIA continues to be recognized globally not only because it embodies our positioning as a Filipino resort airport, but also because its design and quality of engineering allows us to deliver world-class service” said Louie Ferrer, President GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation. Also, “The Cabin Bar” grabbed another recognition during the Airport Food and Beverage Awards held in Dallas Texas. They are the first full bar operating in MCIA, is operated by London-based travel food and beverage operator SSP.
“The Cabin Bar exudes a resort feel with its open, flowing concept and wide, spacious countertops.
