A Complete Change in Cebuano Transportation〜the Water Bus〜

Taxies, Jeepneys, Habal-habals... With so many vehicles running
all over Cebu, traffic jams are unavoidable. But, that's probably about to
change with the introduction of Maxboat's innovative Water Bus!

Even Cebuanos are sick of traffic jams

A Complete Change in Cebuano Transportation〜the Water Bus〜

Traffic is one of the biggest social concerns for Cebu City as it's always crowded with cars everywhere. People frequently get caught in traffic jams on their way to their hotel in Cebu City from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport. The exit to the airport, the bridge connecting Mactan and Cebu, the big intersection in Mandaue... you will be surrounded by cars! And it takes hours to get to any sightseeing spot. Tourists and Cebuanos alike are tired of it. They say it's because there's no public transportation, like buses or cars, and there are only two bridges between Mactan Island and Cebu. And in recent year, more people are getting their own cars so there's also concern that there will be even more traffic in a few more years.

No red lights on the ocean

This new, innovative vehicle, the "Water Bus" will make a big difference in Cebu City. Maxboat Marine Corporation came up with the idea, "when the land is crowded, why not go on the water!" It's the birth of a new transportation system on the water, connecting 8 towns, like Carmen and Danao City, with Cebu City! Operation will begin in the last week of May or early June. It's time to show off their new development!

With a capacity of 70 passengers, it's definitely the "bus of the sea!"

The 70-seater cabin is equipped with TVs, restrooms, and air-conditioning (except some buses) for passenger comfort. There will a lot of careful consideration behind the scenes too, their engines are equipped with cooling systems so they wouldn't heat up the cabin. Safe and comfortable transportation is all yours.

Carefully designed "Bus Stops"

The "bus stops" will also be constructed to suit the Water Bus and provide safety and protection from strong waves, rain, and the heat of the sun. You can relax listening to the sound of the waves as you wait for the bus.

Destinations of the Water Bus

From town to town, The seas connect Cebu's major hubs

As of now, the Water Bus will stop in 8 different places, starting with 2 boats from Cebu City. Of course, it can reach each destination faster than a car. Not just in speed, but the comfort is better too. Passengers who get motion sickness from bumpy roads don't have to worry on the boat, and there's no exhaust or dust to hurt their eyes and throat. The Water Bus will be a big help for people who can't bear long periods of travel, or people who have to deliver things as soon as possible, and could also be something new for tourists.
