When buying wine, try to buy wines that have won competitions or have high review scores as then experts have already validated the wine for you.. The prizes or points are normally printed on the label.

Why do you swirl the glass before you drink it?

You swirl the wine to draw in oxygen which helps to get rid of the tannic acids which are put in the bottle to preserve the wine but can give it a bitter taste. The swirling also helps to release the aromas so you can smell the wine better.

You should try to drink wine the day you open it. Normally,depending on the wine, you should drink red wine 30 minutes after you open the bottle. If you cannot finish the bottle, please use a wine stopper. It is an essential wine accessory to close leftover wine bottles as it’s hard to put the original corks back in the bottleneck. Even with a wine stopper, it’s best to try to drink it as soon as possible.
